There are many reasons why 3rd party data collection is beneficial. Two in particular are:

2. 3rd party data will assist when regulators audit your business

DAN data loggers routinely collect data and routinely transfer that data to a data vault where it is stored. As the data is collected independently it can be used as evidence of your due diligence if ever that need arises.

Some organisations collect data as it is necessary to present to regulatory authorities when they audit your compliance. Some organisations using DAN data loggers now allow regulators access to that part of the data required to demonstrate compliance and allow that access over the Internet via the DAN website. Some say they now don’t even see the regulator from one year to the next!
