Data loggers take ‘local action’
Data loggers routinely collect data that is critical to the conduct of a business. Some data loggers have the capacity to take action based upon the data collected. Most companies that discharge effluent have a contract with the water authorities that entitles them to discharge an agreed volume each day at an agreed strength normally expressed as BOD.
DAN equipment is currently used to monitor the effluent flow and can send alarms when the amount discharged during the discharge cycle starts to approach the limit available. DAN equipment has also been set up to switch on/off a pump and divert effluent into a holding tank for subsequent discharge the next day.
