Data loggers protect your business investment
Almost irrespective of what business you are in, a data logger can protect your investment and in many instances, can also provide you with a competitive advantage.
Here are just two examples. Firstly, some companies that sell refrigeration equipment are now starting to offer 3rd part data logging solutions to monitor the performance of their equipment. Data loggers send alarms when things go wrong and are evidence that a supplier stands behind their product and is prepared to validate its performance. Secondly, companies that distribute food products to vulnerable groups such as the ‘aged’ are increasingly using data loggers to ensure their food temperatures are maintained at a safe level.
Talk to Data Acquisition Networks today about how a data logger can protect your business assets and provide you with competitive advantage.
Temperature data logging
Temperature is critical to many processes and many industries.
Whether its the food industry where temperature kills bacteria or the environmental industry where discharge from power plants back into the waterways is important to protect marine life or whether its laboratory samples that represent a lifetimes work and need to be kept deeply frozen, DAN data loggers can maintain a ‘monitoring watch’ over your critical function and send you alarms in time for you to take corrective action should a problem ever occur.
DAN data loggers have revolutionised thinking in how data loggers should function. Simplicity in design combined with faultless and consistent performance make them the obvious data logging choice.
Data logging made easy
DAN data loggers come ready to connect to your existing probes or any industrial probe.
Once connected, DAN data loggers start transmitting data and send it routinely in accordance with the duty cycle you request.
The beauty of DAN data loggers is they transmit data to your desk. You do not have to retrieve it from site! DAN data loggers also send alarms when things go wrong and keep permanent incorruptible records as evidence of your due diligence.
DAN makes data logging easy!
Laboratory temperature monitoring
Many laboratories hold sample in cold rooms. These samples may represent a lifetime’s work and yet often there is little if any monitoring to ensure temperature is adequately maintained.
Data Acquisition Networks is able to monitor cold-room temperature and send urgent alarms when things go wrong that will enable corrective action to be taken.
Estuarine monitoring using wireless loggers
Data Acquisition Networks has a history of successful involvement with the monitoring of estuarine water quality through maintaining salinity records that are an indicator of water water impurity. Put simply, when it rains and there is run-off from land into the estuary there is a probability the water will become impure. By correlating water salinity with meat quality the aquaculture industry is able to determine at what salinity level an estuary should be closed for aquaculture harvesting.
New wireless transmitters from DAN enable multiple points within an estuary to be monitored from one data logger positioned in a farmer’s shed. This enables readings to take into account tidal flows that may conclude rainfall does not effect every point in an estuary equally.
Data loggers from DAN continue to lead the way in estuarine salinity monitoring.
Swimming Pool monitoring
Every organisation or individual that has a swimming pool which is made available to customers and/or the public has a responsibility to ensure the environment in which people swim is safe.
Data Acquisition Networks have data logging and data monitoring equipment that for a very small cost can pick up the readings from currently installed probes and maintain a permanent record of pH and chlorine that if ever needed will become evidence of your due diligence.

Data loggers and the environment
In every newspaper almost everywhere in the world, people are talking about climate change, the environment, emissions and carbon footprints. Governments are not only talking about it they are starting to do things with a view to changing behaviours over time and therefore protecting our planet from degradation.
Over time, companies and others will be paying increased taxes for emitting substances that are not good for the planet and monitoring what emissions there are will assume ever increasing importance.
Data Acquisition Networks is able to assist industry to manage and monitor their emissions and have data loggers that can record information that is time-stamped and accurate. Contact DAN today to see how we can assist you to be a better corporate citizen and to give your company competitive advantage.
Data loggers add value
Data loggers provided by Data Acquisition Networks have a history of adding value to everyone involved!
DAN has been supplying data loggers for salinity monitoring since 2002 and there are several good examples of how the payback for their use is rapid.
The closure of an estuary for aquaculture harvesting is determined by the salinity reading. By correlating meat quality with salinity, one estuary in NSW has been able to increase its ‘available harvest days’ by 43%! This not only improves food safety outcomes but is also means produce from farmers in that estuary is more reliably available.
Transmitters for local data transmission
During July 2008 Data Acquisition Networks has announced the release of NEW WIRELESS TRANSMITTERS & RECEIVERS for ‘local’ data transmission.
Wirreless transmitters and receivers save substantial time and money. They are flexibly locatable on a site and require NO ‘HARD’ WIRING!
One DAN receiver can accommodate multiple DAN transmitters and can transmit data over a distance of 2 kilometers. Each transmitter can take up to 6 inputs and the receiver can transfer data to you SCADA system or can be connected to a DAN DM01 data logger from where data can be transferred to your desk wherever that may be located.
Wireless transmitters and receivers
DAN Wireless Transmitters and Receivers are designed for a wide range of applications in process variable measurement and data transfer. When distance between the probe and the logging unit, or site conditions make hard wiring difficult or impractical DAN wireless connections offer a unique and convenient solution. Typically the range between a transmitter and receiver can be up to 2 kilometers depending upon the terrain and the obstructions and the antennas used at each end. With the use of selected antennas, the range may in some cases be extended to 10 kilometers.
